Commission tasked to investigate the cause of the airplane crash of June 22, 2021, at the Urije-Prijedor Airport, appointed by the Decision of the Minister of Communications and Transport, has completed the first phase of the investigation which included the accident fact finding.

The accident occurred during an airplane flight for the purpose of conducting an information flight with a future glider-training candidate, in which CITABRIA CH-10 plane and BLANIK L-13 glider took part.

According to work plan, the Commission gathered all the facts about the circumstances of the accident that resulted in mild injuries of two persons and substantial damage to the glider due to hitting the ground. The Commission will continue to analyse the gathered facts at the expert level.

The fact analysis will be focused on: the pilot’s qualifications and abilities to perform the flight, weather and flight conditions, actions by airplane and glider pilots, and aircraft engine operation. The Commission will report regularly on the results of the investigation through statements.
