In his address, Deputy Minister Janjić noted that the BiH postal sector is seeking to adapt to constant changes affected by global trends in new technologies, digitalisation of postal services, postal markets liberalisation, and growing competition.
“In order to meet global postal service market requirements, ensure sustainable universal services, and bring about integration into the international postal environment, sectoral reforms are needed. With the aim of launching such activities, the Ministry called for the support of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) which, through the Integrated Postal Reform and Development Plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina and without delay, provided domestic experts with an excellent expert and technical assistance in drawing up this reform document. The document is a result of extensive research, analyses and mutual consultations, and represents a strategically important document for the postal services development in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the integration thereof into the global postal market“, Deputy Minister said.
The Ministry is implementing, in cooperation with the UPU, the “Integrated Postal Reform and Development Plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina“ project aimed at supporting the postal sector reform. The main purpose of this reform is to ensure the fulfilment of the state's obligations in terms of providing universal postal service and creating the conditions necessary for modernisation of postal sector.
