Following the appeal made two days ago by the BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, the Republic of Serbia has completely cancelled police escorting and forming convoys in international transport of goods as of this morning.

Mitrović stressed that cancelling police escorting and formation of convoys will help all drivers, health workers and those engaged at border crossings as well as to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia in supplying with the necessary goods and will contribute to the fight against coronavirus.

Gathering of vehicles engaged in international transport during the emergency period leads to creating crowds at border crossings, thereby opening up the possibility for spreading the disease amongst drivers, police and customs officers, and other workers engaged at border crossings.

Finally, Minister Mitrović once again thanked the Republic of Serbia Government for their efforts in normalising the road transport of goods during these difficult times and avowing congestions at border crossings due to formation of long queues.
