Doboj - Tuzla – Zvornik railway will become the artery of the largest industrial region in BiH

“We wish to begin with complete reconstruction of the railway from Doboj to Zvornik and further towards Serbia. There is a strong interest of that country to apply for EU grunts with us in the following period in order to make this railway the artery of the largest industrial region in BiH” said Minister Edin Forto after the meeting the representatives responsible for railway infrastructure.

If funds are made available, this project could be implemented in 4-to-5-year period, the cost of which is estimated to some EUR 500 million. Continuation of discussion with the World Bank on accessing grants is planned in this regard.

Minister of Transport and Communications of Republika Srpska, Nedeljko Čubrilović, emphasised the importance of this corridor for the economy of the Tuzla, Sarajevo, and Banja Luka regions, respectively, and connecting them with the Port of Ploče and Serbia.
