BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, met today in the premises of the Institute for Civil Engineering “IG” d. o. o. Banja Luka in Banja Luka, with the Institute Director, Nebojša Knežević, and his associates.

The topic of today’s meeting was about the construction of the future Adriatic-Ionian motorway and the proposed options of the multicriteria analyses were discussed, as well as the route proposed by the eastern Herzegovina municipalities.

As noted by Minister Mitrović, the Ministry will consider this request and based on the analysis will propose further steps to be taken in order to meet the interest of all parties, Republika Srpska, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Republic of Croatia and Montenegro, given that the motorway route is part of the SEETO network of corridors.

The Adriatic-Ionian motorway through Bosnia and Herzegovina begins in Počitelj and ends in Aranđelovo near Trebinje on the border with Montenegro.

The planning and project documentation envisages the total length of 110 kilometres of the motorway through the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska.

The Adriatic-Ionian motorway is part of the same corridor that is about 1,110 kilometres long stretching through seven countries – Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, ending in the Igoumenitsa Port in Greece.
