BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, and Director of BiH Indirect Taxation Authority, Miro Džakula, met today in Banja Luka to discuss opening of the Svilaj temporary border crossing intended for passenger traffic. The meeting was also attended by members of the BiH ITA and representatives of the Contractor.

Opening of the temporary border crossing for passengers is of great importance for the border security and marks the beginning of the use of this newly constructed bridge over the Sava River. Some conclusions were reached during the meeting in order to create preconditions for its smooth operation.

Namely, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina needs to conclude the Border Crossing Agreement with the Republic of Croatia to resolve the status of the newly constructed border crossing Svilaj, the competent Ministries should provide financial and other means, and infrastructure issues necessary for the completion of the new border crossing Svilaj need to be addressed as soon as possible.
