Comment:

After five years of unsuccessful attempts, the Civil Aviation Safety Programme of Bosnia and Herzegovina was adopted at today’s Constituent Session of the State Committee for the BiH Civil Aviation Safety, presided by the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto.

Minister Forto will submit the Programme to the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina hoping that it will be adopted in order for Bosnia and Herzegovina to meet its international obligation under Annex 17 of the Chicago Convention and to recognise ONE STOP SECURITY measures that are applicable in the EU member states.

The Programme regulates safety measures and the institutions responsible for fulfilling BiH’s international obligations in the area of civil aviation safety and for ensuring the protection of passengers and aircraft personnel, facilities and equipment, both in regular as well as hazardous and crisis situations.
