Mitrović and Scanlan on motorway route through Brčko District

Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vojin Mitrović has met with the First Deputy of the High representative and Supervisor for Brčko District Michael Scanlan.

They discussed construction of motorway Sarajevo – Belgrade, specifically solving of problem of the selection of part of the route passing through Brčko District.

In the next few days Ministry, together with Supervisor for Brčko District Mr. Scanlan, will start the activities on the harmonization of the route through Brčko District in order to continue activities on the construction of section Sarajevo – Belgrade.

Also, subject of negotiations was item of the agenda of the session of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on which it is necessary to make a decision on the initiation on negotiations in order to conclude the agreement on the reconstruction of the bridge Brčko – Gunja and further activities necessary to reach the phase of reconstruction of the bridge that is closed for transport of heavy vehicles since 2019.

There are also parallel activities on the reconstruction of Brčko Port and demining of the right bank of the Sava River, which is necessary in order to put Brčko Port in function in its full capacity all for the prosperity of economy and residents of Brčko District and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
