“The construction of the bridge on the motorway route that will connect Bosnia and Herzegovina with Serbia and Banja Luka with Belgrade, creates a number of advantages that provide the opportunity for the development of the economy and all other segments of society. With the construction of the Sarajevo – Belgrade motorway, Bosnia and Herzegovina will have the possibility to connect with the corridors X and XI within Serbia and the Belgrade – Šid motorway, as well as with the road passing through Požega, while for Serbia this means connecting with the European Corridor Vc that connects Hungary, Croatia and BiH. I hope that this bridge will serve as the bridge of hope bringing new businesses, strengthening tourism and providing young people who stay here with better and more comfortable life” said Minister Mitrović.
“This project is important for connecting Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia and Republika Srpska, but it is also important for connecting two peoples, Serbs and Bosniaks. Joint border crossings are planned to be constructed on both sections, one in Sremska Rača and the other in Kotroman, that will facilitate traffic between Serbia and BiH. The future of the region is in connectivity and joint projects are the best way to preserve stability, improve our relations and, as a region, move forward and develop, for the benefit of all citizens” said Minister Mihajlović.
The construction of this new bridge over the Rača is one of the most significant projects jointly implemented by the Republic of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The construction of the bridge over the Sava River near Rača is of exceptional significance for the citizens and the economy of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in light of the planned construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway. After the bridge in Bratunac, this is the second interstate bridge with the Republic of Serbia that is being built in a relatively short period of time and the construction of which is fully financed by the Republic of Serbia, that we are most grateful for” said Minister Popović.
