They discussed the way to speed up the transport of goods, since in the past several days large traffic congestions have been created at border crossings open for international transport. Particular problem pose the kilometres-long convoy of trucks in Gradiška waiting to enter Croatia and disrupting the lives of the local population.
It was agreed to organise meetings between operational teams of all relevant services of the respective countries at the border crossings of Šamac, Gradiška and Bijača in order to agree the operational method and speeding up the passage of trucks and transport of goods.
The need to direct trucks with the final destination in Croatia to other border crossings and not only to the above three was noted, in order to reduce crowds at border crossings intended for international transport. The expectation is to establish a separate task group for each border crossing consisting of representatives of border police, customs authority, veterinary and phytosanitary services from both countries.
The opportunity was also used to discuss the so called EU “green lines” for transport of goods transiting our country as well and the method of including BiH in taking decisions on these strategically important “green lines”.
