In the previous period, a number of complaints was received by the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport from the legal carriers against natural and legal persons performing transport services in violation of the legal provisions.

Despite the constant activities of the competent control authorities, illegal transport has been present for a long time and has threatened to fully block legal transport and the collapse of a large number of companies engaged in transportation activities in line with the applicable legislation. Therefore, with the aim of stopping and eliminating such practice, preserving jobs, and protecting the rights of passengers, a comprehensive and intensive action is planned to take place from 15 October until 15 November this year that would continue during regular controls until final resolution of the of the biggest ongoing problem in international road transport of passengers and goods.

This action would be coordinated by the Ministry, via the Inspectorate Department and the Transport Department, against full cooperation with the Entity Administrations for Inspectorate Affairs, that of the Brčko District and the cantons, as well as the relevant BiH Border Police body in charge of border crossing control and the Entity Ministries of Interior and the Brčko District Ministry of Interior.

As part of this action, the Ministry will also intensify the activities on drafting the Law on Amendments to the Law on International and Inter-Entity Road Transport.
