The necessity to adopt this Regulation arose from declaration of a state of natural or other disaster at the territory of BiH caused by a coronavirus pandemic and the Ministry wanted to help citizens of our country in the same time respecting all legal provisions.
The proposal of Vojin Mitrović the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina to adopt decision on extension of the validity of vehicle registration in Bosnia and Herzegovina for vehicles registered in BiH with registration expired from March 15, 2020 to April 30, 2020 was not supported at the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH held in April 1, 2020, so this issue has been solved through the amendments of the Regulation.
A new paragraph is added in the Regulation stating the following: “for vehicles with registration expired after March 16, 2020 request for extension of vehicle registration can be submitted not later than 90 days starting from the date of termination of the state of natural or other disaster at the territory of BiH and if the request for the extension of vehicle registration is not submitted in the period defined in this Article vehicle shall be officially deregistered from the register of registered vehicles and the owner of the vehicle shall be obliged to return license plates to the competent authority in the period of eight days.”
Regulation amending the Regulation on vehicle registration is referred for publication in Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina and shall be in force from the day following the day of publication.
