During the visit, the Ministry’s delegation had the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest technologies and to discuss the relevance of technical innovations in terms of reducing costs and increasing energy efficiency as well as the potential benefits of 5G technologies for various industries.

Minister Mitrović informed the Huawei representatives that the Ministry, in cooperation with other domestic and international partners, is making efforts in adopting new legislation as well as the strategic documents required for achieving the desired goals to enable digitalisation and implementation of 5G network in the future.  

“Huawei, as a global leader in the field of information and communication technologies, has been present in over 170 countries and regions worldwide and in Bosnia and Herzegovina over the last 10 years and is able to provide significant contribution to the process of digitalisation of the country. Furthermore, the application of 5G technologies in certain countries has already proved the importance of digitalisation for both the economy and the environment” said Minister Mitrović.

The Ministry will continue to pursue with the implementation of the 4G network in accordance with the telecom operators’ contractual obligations and, at the same time, create the preconditions for establishing the 5G network.
