On this occasion, Minister Mitrović pointed out the importance of signing the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the Cooperation in Infrastructure and Construction Projects, noting that it represents a huge BiH and its infrastructure development as a key precondition for attracting foreign investments.
“Signing of the Infrastructure Agreement is the first step in the implementation of the major Sarajevo-Belgrade highway construction project, which for our country means connecting with Serbia, the countries of the Western Balkans and even Turkey. We owe special gratitude to President Erdogan, who extended a hand of friendship and helped BiH embark on the activity that has been stalled for years, and that is the making connection between the two largest cities in the region” said Minister Mitrović.
Minister Mitrović once again thanked the Republic of Turkey for the projects, especially the infrastructure ones, that will be implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and expressed his gratitude to both President Erdogan and the Turkish people for donating 30,000 vaccines against COVID-19 to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the time when we were unable to obtain the vaccine from the COVAX programme.
The delegation of the Foreign Economic Relations Committee of the Republic of Turkey was led by its President, Nail Olpak. The delegation also included the Chairman of the Turkish-Bosnian Business Council, Muzafer Çilek, members of the DEiK Assembly Board, representatives of the Turkish-Bosnian Business Council and numerous businessmen from the Republic of Turkey.
Following the lunch with the DEiK representatives, Minister Mitrović held a meeting with the President of the Turkish company Tasyapi, Emrullah Turanli, with whom he discussed the Agreement signed the day before, to be implemented on the territory of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the beginning of the construction of the Sarajevo – Beograd – Sarajevo highway.
