During the meeting they discussed the BHDCA 2020 Activity Report, as well as the activities, risks and challenges in the implementation of the BHDCA 2021 Work Programme.
Acting Director General Mr Šušnjar said that, in addition to operational difficulties due to the pandemic, the Directorate has been faced with a shortage of staff for an extended period of time.
“BHDCA is faced with the lack of qualified personnel and, therefore, it is necessary to put into procedure the Decision on additional recruitment and the Draft Rulebook on amendments to the Rulebook on the internal organisation and systematisation in order for the Directorate to be able to follow modern trends in civil aviation” said Šušnjar.
Minister Mitrović noted on the good cooperation and communication with the Directorate.
“Civil aviation is one of the areas mostly affected by the pandemic. As a consequence, the BHDCA’s revenues dropped, which was compensated with some of the Directorate’s savings” said the Minister adding that the Directorate’s fundamental role is to maintain the achieved level of air traffic safety that requires full staff and technical competence.
