BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, together with Milorad Dodik, Member of BiH Presidency, Nedeljko Čubtilović, RS Minister of Transport and Communications and Slobodan Stanarević, Acting Director of RS Motorways, visited today preparatory works on the construction of the Bijeljina-Rača Motorway section.

Minister Mitrović noted that this was the result of a trilateral agreement concluded between BiH, Serbia and Turkey concerning the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway including the road section from Bijeljina to Rača which forms a part of the section from Rača to Banja Luka.

During his visit to the mentioned locations, Minister Mitrović said that the completion of the construction of the bridge and an integrated border crossing is soon to be expected, adding that this will make movement of persons and goods between BiH and Serbia simpler and faster.

As noted, construction costs of this section are estimated at BAM 260 million, out of which the Republic of Serbia will allocate EUR 100 million while the rest will be financed by Republika Srpska. It is also expected for this 20 kilometres long section to be operational in two and a half to three years.
