At the beginning Minister Mitrović stressed that an unhindered and accelerated flow of goods and passengers is a precondition for the development of road infrastructure.

“Modernisation, construction and overall development of road infrastructure is not possible without significant investments that seriously impact budget stability of the countries that are much more developed than Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, the dynamics of road and railway construction are undoubtedly not satisfactory and require a review of long-term actions.

In that respect, the experiences of developed countries are of great importance, especially in the context of identifying opportunities for good quality and long-term sustainable public-private partnerships that will facilitate the financing of modernisation and construction of infrastructure projects" said Minister Mitrović and expressed the expectation that the Conference will be the first in a series of steps to help all stakeholders included in infrastructure modernisation and construction to gain new knowledge about PPPs.
