Minister Mitrović thanked the Government and the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina for their efforts in regulating and further developing international road transport of passengers and goods and, to the mutual satisfaction, successful completion of the negotiations on this Agreement.
“Mutual foreign trade exchange in 2019 amounted to 159 mil. KM, whereas in the first 10 months of this year the trade exchange amounted to 149 mil. KM; the last year’s amount is, therefore, expected to be exceeded. This is a driver for improving bilateral agreements that serve as the support to further improvement of the overall bilateral relations, because the foundation of each country’s development is boosting the economy and the economic exchange with its foreign partners.
The Agreement we signed regulates bilateral matters in terms of transport of passengers and goods, as well as the rights and obligations of carriers registered in one country while performing the carriage in the territory of the other country” said Minister Mitrović, adding that the activities are underway to agree the text of the Agreement on Air Traffic between the two countries, thus raising the level of their overall relations.
Ambassador Field welcomed the Agreement that will enable strengthening of trade between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom.
“This will enable unlimited direct and indirect access to the international commercial trade of goods in both directions for the activities established in both countries. This is good news for the commercial cooperation between the United Kingdom and BiH” noted Ambassador Field.
This Agreement replaces the Agreement on the International Carriage of Goods by Road between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, signed on 3 February 1969 in London.
