Discussing the proposed alternatives of the Brčko-Gunja bridge reconstruction, the importance of selecting optimal alternative under the current conditions was stressed but also to take into account the construction of a new bridge between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia in the coming years.

Urging for the acceleration of the preparation activities concerning the Sarajevo – Belgrade highway, Minister Mitrović noted that the reconstruction and the construction of the bridge is crucial to the economic growth in the Brčko District while the construction of the highway from Banja Luka and Sarajevo will further strengthen the position of the Brčko District as the area suitable for economic activities.

Mayor Kadrić stressed the interest of the BD to participate in the important capital project such as the construction of the highway, given the positive aspects of this road for Brčko.

“In addition to the construction of the highway, construction of the bridge over the Sava River is also in the focus of the work of the Government and competent institutions of the BD. Considering that these are state and interstate projects, communication with relevant Ministries is of exceptional importance to us and, therefore, we thank Minister Mitrović for a very constructive meeting” said Mayor Karić.
