Ambassador Sattler stressed the need to accelerate the construction of the Corridor 5C motorway, expressing the expectation that the Svilaj Bridge and the border crossing would be opened in April or May this year.
Thanking for the huge support and funds provided by the EU for the construction of modern road infrastructure in BiH, as well as for other projects aimed at connecting BiH with other countries in the region and the EU, Minister Mitrović also noted on the importance of the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway and connecting it to the Corridor Vc motorway.
They also talked about the construction of the bridge in Gunja and future EU investments in the revitalisation of the Port of Brčko. Minister Mitrović assessed it as the project of high importance and expressed his hope that BiH and the Brčko District would create all the preconditions for the implementation of the project.
They also discussed the need to improve the railway infrastructure in BiH. Minister Mitrović welcomed the fact that the EU supports the railway reconstruction process in BiH, as part of the IPA II programme, and also expressed the expectation for the continuation of the cooperation in the implementation of the General Strategy for the Development of Railways in BiH.
Ambassador Sattler referred to the importance of completing the digitalisation process in BiH. In this regard, Minister Mitrović said that the money has been provided for the implementation of the second and third phases of the digitalisation and expressed his belief in the success of its implementation.
