According to Minister Mitrović, the meeting also discussed the construction of the Sava Bridge, as the largest infrastructure facility on the Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway, the construction of the border crossing facility on the Serbian side as well as potential corrections to the motorway's connection to the Bijeljina City bypass.
Minister Mitrović announced the possibility of implementing the rail transport reconstruction project in Semberija, noting that at the recent meeting in Belgrade the representatives of the Serbian Government have expressed interest for the reconstruction of the railroad from Šid to Bijeljina.
Noting that the construction of the motorway and the railroad from Belgrade to Bijeljina would considerably contribute to increasing the volume of economic cooperation as well as to speeding up the flow of people, goods and capital, Minister Mitrović stressed out that future cooperation between the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport and the City of Bijeljina will be fruitful and mutually beneficial, in particular after the today's meeting.
The Mayor of Bijeljina, Mićo Mićić, said that the Administration of the City of Bijeljina had completed a major part of its commitments with regard to the motorway construction project with the spatial plan being adopted and the motorway route being defined.
Mićić also said that nine teams from the Republic Administration for Geodetic and Property Affairs will be engaged on the land subdivision in the following days.
Mayor Mićić and Minister Mitrović also talked about asphalting the road to the border crossing Jamina, for the purpose of which a project study and a project value assessment will be made in the period ahead.
