In a cordial and open discussion, Ambassador Sakamoto informed Minister Mitrović about several projects worth some KM 1.3 million financed by the Japanese Government that are implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina. These projects include setting up a meteorological surveillance system that will significantly improve air traffic control at Sarajevo Airport and the donation of specialized vehicles for road control and maintenance. The Ambassador also announced the commencement of a new traffic-related project in the Sarajevo Canton.
Expressing his satisfaction with the implementation of these projects and thanking for the overall assistance and support of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Minister Mitrović said he is looking forward to future cooperation with this friendly country.
Information was exchanged on the possibilities of extending the cooperation in the transport sector as well as on the improvement of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan in IT and communications sectors. Minister Mitrović noted that the geographical position and connectivity with the EU countries is an advantage that Bosnia and Herzegovina should use in attracting Japanese and other foreign investors.
With the aim of enhancing cooperation in all areas and strengthening good and friendly relations between the two countries, Ambassador Sakamoto invited Minister Mitrović to visit Japan this year.
