BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, met with the UNDP Resident Representative to BiH

BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, met today in Sarajevo with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to BiH, Steliana Nedera, to discuss further cooperation in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.



Senior Programme Coordinator and Justice and Security Sector Leader, Slobodan Tadić, also attended the meeting in which further implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport and the UNDP, which includes cooperation in developing plans and strategies in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, was discussed.

UNDP representatives congratulated Minister Mitrović on his appointment and noted that, in the last over a year of mutual cooperation, the Ministry has been a reliable partner in environmental and rural development projects.


Minister Mitrović thanked for the congratulations underlining the importance of the MoU and expressed the expectations to continue with the ongoing good cooperation with UNDP.

In that regard, the continuation of joint activities on the preparation of a workshop was also discussed, that is to be organised by the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport in early March this year, in cooperation with UNDP and with the support of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). In addition to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, the workshop will also be dedicated to road safety.

The process of digitalisation in BiH was also discussed among the interlocutors. Noting on this, Minister Mitrović said that the Ministry's goal for BiH is to catch up with Europe in the digitisation sector, with the support of UNDP.
