Minister Forto called for benefits for BiH professional drivers

BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Edin Forto, had a meeting with the Director of the Policy Coordination Directorate of the EU Directorate - General for Mobility and Transport, Mon Björklund, and called on the European Commission to support the initiative for the exemption of professional drivers from the EU Regulation allowing nationals of third countries to stay in the Union for 90 days in any 180-day period, as already applicable to pilots and see fleets.

The issue of unreasonably long negotiations concerning the mutual recognition of driving licences was also brough up at the meeting. To this end, Minister Forto gave an example of negotiations going on for the last five and seven years with Spain and Italy, respectively.
