BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, together with Director of RS Highways, Dušan Topić, representatives of the Constructor, Integral inženjering a. d. Laktaši, and the Supervisor, Institut IGH d. d. Zagreb, visited the construction site of the bridge over the Sava River near Gradiška where it was observed that the works are proceeding according to the planned dynamics.

As Minister Mitrović said, the reason for visiting the construction site is to get acquainted with the current situation on the construction of the section and the bridge on the Sava River, enabling the connection between Corridor 10 and the Gradiška - Banja Luka highway, which will accelerate the flow of goods and capital in the interest of all BiH citizens.

"In the near future, the bridge over the Sava River will connect the existing Gradiška - Banja Luka highway with the network of European highways, which is very important for the citizens and the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the region." With the construction of the bridge, Bosnia and Herzegovina will open the door to the European Union and connect to the network of European road corridors, and the highway will become fully operational, enabling faster development of this part of the country" said Minister Mitrović.

The Gradiška Bridge, scheduled to be completed in the spring of next year, will connect the highway in BiH with the planned expressway on the Croatian side that will stretch from the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, via Virovitica and Okučani, all the way to the border with Hungary.

With the construction of this section, together with the bridge over the Sava River, and the already finished customs terminal on the territory of BiH, a significant reduction of traffic congestion at the existing border crossing in Gradiška is expected. Also, significant time savings are expected at the border crossing, as well as faster and safer travel.
