The document on improving Maps of the Trans-European Transport Network was signed today at the Budva Connectivity Summit by Minister Forto and five more regional ministers and the representatives of the European Commission.

This transport network's projects are of the highest priority to the EU funds co-financing, thus adding new corridors within BiH is crucial.

As for BiH, apart from Mostar - Imotski expresway, the rail transport network has been extended by the railroad from Novi Grad to Croatia, the Čapljina – Trebinje – Nikšić – Podgorica railroad, and the road link from Tuzla toward Serbia.

Minister Forto noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina needs to follow trends in both, the region and the EU, especially when it comes to the rail infrastructure construction and the modernisation of rail transport which has been unreasonably neglected.

The additional road connections which would enable co-financing of the Jajce-Bihać expressway section on the corridor which would connect Tirana – Podgorica -Sarajevo – Una-Sana Canton with Croatia and Slovenia were also discussed. The Jajce – Bihać project will be considered under the initiative to construct this route through five countries.

In his address, Minister Forto extended an invitation for the next Connecting Summit to take place in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
