He noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina significantly lacks behind the European Union countries in terms of the digital process and digital transformation. “At the same time” said Minister Forto, “we have a reason to be optimistic as the IT industry is one of the fastest growing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is also one of the largest capital of our country that must be utilised and would lead, through our joint action, to digital transformation for the benefit of all citizens.”

Adopting strategic documents such as the Broadband Access Strategy, alignment of legislation on electronic signature in BiH with the EU Directives, accession to the European digitalisation projects, such ad Digital Europe, are only a small portion of the activities in which the Ministry has been intensively engaged and will lead to significant EU funds and investments in digital infrastructure. This is a precondition for digital transformation and launching of e-service that will simplify many processes and make them financially more favourable to our citizens.

“Providing broadband internet in all schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a zero priority, as it is considered as building the highway of the future” concluded Minister Edin Forto.
