Forto and Schnorr: Digitalisation is the Key to Development and Progress

“Germany stands ready to assist Bosnia and Herzegovina to catch up with the rest of Europe in the digitalisation process which is of key importance for any other form of development and progress” said the State Secretary of the Ministry for Digitalisation and Transport of the Federal Republic of Germany, Stafan Schnorr, at today’s meeting with the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, who met on the margins of the Western Balkans Digital Summit held today in Sarajevo.

They both concluded that investing in broadband infrastructure and addressing challenges such as cyber security, protection of privacy and ethical aspects of technology are of crucial significance.

Minister Forto said that the 6^th Western Balkans Digital Summit is an excellent opportunity for a joint engagement on improving our digital ecosystem, stressing that this event may officially mark “the beginning of a new era of digital development in the region in which we shall jointly build prosperity and a better future for all our citizens.”
