Set ofactivities undertaken by Ministry of Communications and Transport have enable that process of demining of the right bank of Sava River continue after three years of standstill which is key precondition for the development of Brčko Port, namely regulation of riverbed and navigability of Sava River.

Grant funds are provided by European Union based on the Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development which is in the phase of ratification.

Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina implements project in cooperation with theMine Action Centre of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the auspices of World Bank.

Study of environmental protection and social issues is currently under the development and is financed by GIZ while means were secured by the Government of Federal Republic of Germany. Preparation of tender documentation is also in progress regarding the selection of contractor for demining operations on 79 locations in 9 municipalities:Kozarska Dubica, Gradiška, Srbac, Derventa, Brod, Odžak, Šamac, Domaljevac-Šamac and Orašje.
