Opening up the possibilities for public-private partnership is key to the acceleration of infrastructural and other projects on which the development of our country depends, was the conclusion drawn from today’s meeting between the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, and Alfonso Garcia Moroa, International Financial Corporation (IFC) Vice President for Europe, Latin America and Caribbean in the World Bank Group (WBG), and Rana Karadshes, IFC’s Regional Director for East and Central Europe.

The meeting was held in Marrakech within the framework of the World Bank-International Monetary Fund Annual Meeting in which Minister Forto takes part in the capacity of Deputy Governor of BiH in the World Bank.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Finances of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Muhamed Hasanović, Minister Forto emphasised that a number of regional and European projects owe their success to public-private partnerships and it is high time for BiH to start introducing this positive European and global practice.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina must introduce private sector through partnerships and concessions”, said Minister Forto at the meeting.
